Loxley’s Restaurant at Heritage Hotel in Lancaster, PA Names February Charities for The Legend Continues Program

LANCASTER, PA – Loxley’s Restaurant to donate 5 percent of food revenue for the month of February through its “The Legend Continues” program. A program based affectionately upon Robin Hood folklore. Through this program, Loxley’s allows patrons to designate which charity will receive the 5 percent donation of their food cost. Guests also have the option to add to the donated amount.

February charities include American Heart Association, World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine, and the Lancaster-Kitchener Friendship Hockey Exchange.

Participants are chosen after an application process that includes a written application and interview with a designated owner representative. Over 40 different charities have benefited from the program to-date. Previous 2010 charities included The Salvation Army Coats for Kids Campaign, Toys for Tots and Water Street Ministries. The Coats for Kids Campaign received $5,000, Toys for Tots received $1,840 and Water Street Ministries received $2,512.

“The program began a year and half ago, when Loxley’s first opened” explained Bill French, General Manager of the restaurant. “Since then, we have been contributing 5 percent of our total food sales each month to local charities. Our combined donations have now crossed the $100,000 mark.”

Eligible charity organizations must have values consistent with the goals and purpose of Loxley’s. All charities are required to provide non-profit and tax exempt certification. Charities that are not chosen have the opportunity to reapply. The charities rotate and vary from month to month.

Loxley’s Restaurant, located at 500 Centerville Road in Lancaster, PA is owned and operated by Heritage Hospitality Management and in affiliation with Heritage Hills Resort in York, PA.

Hannah Penn Middle School and Heritage Hills Golf Resort Recognize Outstanding Students With Limo Lunch Program

“Students Being Taken for a Ride”

YORK, Pa. – Most students hope to be smart enough not to be “taken for a ride;” however, the students at Hannah Penn Middle School work diligently just to enjoy the luxury of a limousine ride and a mouth-watering lunch at Knickers Restaurant at Heritage Hills Golf Resort. Middle school students at the school who have shown strong improvement in academic and social skills receive these limo and lunch invitations as guests of Heritage Hills Golf Resort. The students’ teachers and the principal of Hannah Penn may also attend this special event to celebrate their students’ achievements. The next Limo Lunch takes place on February 15.

The Heritage Hills limo will pick the students up during school hours and transport them to the resort. The selected fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth graders are excited to receive this special treatment. The group participating on February 15 will eat at Knickers Restaurant and then be chauffeured to Bogey Macaws to play in the arcade.

Students who have attended the limo and lunch treat have only positive things to say about their participation. “Thank you so much, Heritage Hills. I had a very nice time. I wish I could do it again someday.” -Dominique

Another student, SiYanna said, “Thank you very much for taking me on the trip out of 6 people. I really loved it. I think it’s the ‘funnest’ thing I did...”

Character education teacher Ms. Angila Kirkessner is delighted with the motivational reward and student recognition that Heritage Hills offers: “The world is a better place because people like you are in it! Thank you for your generosity and for opening doors for our students that otherwise may have remained closed.”

The Limo Lunch program will take place on 5 more occasions during the school year: February 15, March 15, April 19, May 17, and June 7. Heritage Hospitality Management started the program as a way to recognize students who are doing a superb job of meeting their school’s social and educational goals. Heritage Hills Resort and Hannah Penn Middle School believe that this special award will motivate students to improve more as they strive to be chosen to take this special ride. The program is operated by the Heritage Hills Golf Resort, 2700 Mount Rose Avenue, York, 17402. For more information, call 1-877-782-9752, or visit www.hhgr.com.
