About Springwood

Now Managed by Heritage Hills

Rated four stars by Golf Digest, Springwood Golf Course commands a view of the hilly York County countryside. The course opened in 1998 following the plans of designers Ault Clark and Dan Schlagel.

Springwood passed through a series of owners and management companies. The original owners, the Stees Corp., filed for bankruptcy less than two years after opening Springwood in 1998.

Keystone Custom Homes purchased the 150-acre property in 2006 with plans to build 330 homes on 112 acres of the property. The Lancaster County-based home building corporation entered into an open-ended contract with Heritage Hills to run the golf course, pro shop and restaurant at Springwood which are all essential elements to the housing development proposed by Keystone.

In 2007, Heritage Hills started the intensive project of refurbishing the course to its original conditions. Conditions now, according to players and grounds managers, are dramatically improved. Further improvements and changes to the course are planned for 2007 and 2008.
